Wishy Washy

Boo to particles!

Still trying to get particles to look watery.. Getting closer...?

I still need to get a decent texture that doesn't look like ghost water and it is still a work in progress but I feel like I am getting somewhere... It's a lot more difficult than I thought. Still have a few tricks up my sleeve but I'll just have to keep soldiering on. Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

  1. The water effect looks good to me. Remember that the washing will be going faster and you will have other stuff going like foam and splashing. For your water shader try using a mia_x_passes shader or a dielectric shader. Both you will fiend in the mental ray shaders in e hyper shade. If you are still not sure about your water, try increasing the incompressability setting more so the particles all bunch up, this will make it look like there is more water in the drum.

For easy foam, make a duplicate of the water mesh and apply a cloud noise texture to it, and use the same image in the transparency of your shader, the render it out as a separate pass and comp it on top later,

  2. Thanks again for the help Pat :) I will try all of the above
